About Us

Van Communications is a privately owned family business that has been serving Lambton and Kent Counties for over 23 years; our founder, Paul Bogaert, along with his sons recognized a need for affordable two-way radio communications for area Farmers and Small businesses. In 1983 Van Communications opened its doors at our Brigden Location and became the Canadian Marconi radio dealer for the district. We service Lambton, Kent and Middlesex Counties.

Paul in his wisdom and foresight became the first communications company in the area to offer mobile phone service through Bell Mobility. In the early 1980's cellular technology grew from a few choice areas of coverage, to the largest cellular phone system provider in Canada and Van Communications has grown along with it.

Not long after the emergence of the "mobile" phone, Paul also saw the need for a local paging system. Van Communications commenced in building a network of paging repeaters across the city and chemical valley in which to service their customers. This system served the Sarnia-Lambton area for several years until sold to a national provider.

Van Communications is currently an Icom Land Mobile Radio Authorized Dealer and Service Shop, as well as a Business Telecom systems provider including the new cutting-edge Technology of 'Voice Over Internet Protocol' (VOIP). Additionaly, our service department is trained in the repair of all major makes and models of two-way radio equipment.

Operations Manager Chris Bogaert now handles the day-to-day running of the company and has seen our customer base grow to include not only individual customers and small business but large corporations and municipalities as well.

It is our vast experience with all the various forms of communicating, and our dedicated staff that set us apart from our competitors.
